Especially since the sustainability of packaging has a proven influence on consumer purchasing decisions.
Highest recycling rate, renewable and biodegradable
Cartonboard is produced from the renewable raw material wood from sustainably managed forests or waste paper. Cartonboard packaging also has the highest recycling rate of all packaging materials within the EU at 85 %. Once they are released into the environment, paper-based packaging dissolves within a few weeks. What comes from nature becomes nature again.
Ideally positioned
The EU Circular Economy Package, which became effective in July 2018, contains requirements for the promotion of the Europe-wide recycling of raw materials - linear is becoming circular. Cartonboard packaging is ideally positioned in this respect and is already one of the top performers in the implementation of recycling management.
