Clamshells, also called hinged packs (burger boxes), are one-piece packages that consist of two halves connected by a hinged area so the box can be closed. They are used in the fast food, take-away and quick service sector.

Packages in this segment must be constructed in such a way that they can be kept ready to use in their open position and closed with one move. Clamshells can be produced in a variety of shapes and folds and have to satisfy high standards of flexibility and formability. In addition, clamshell packaging must comply with stringent food regulation requirements.
