In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as a method of managing inventory. VMI systems allow the supplier to view customer’s requirement and its stock. The supplier becomes therefore responsible of replenishing the right product at the right time.

Currently, MMP companies use tailor-made VMI systems due to the complexity of customer business. As a Group, there is the opportunity and the expectation to develop a standard VMI system to strengthen the relationship with customers across Europe. The use of Internet would be definitively an added-value for both parts. With that standardized tool, MMP will be able to integrate customer’s data in various formats (XML, EDI, excel, csv as main examples).
