Calender Varnishing

An offline method. Varnish (thermoplastic) is applied and smoothed between heated, polished calender cylinders. Calendering varnish achieves extremely smooth surfaces that are virtually indistinguishable from laminates. The advantage is that, contrary to laminates, varnished materials are 100 per cent recyclable.
